Industrial Arts . . .
C.T.S. Industrial Arts is a program offered to all grade levels. Grade 7 see it as part of the HIAC program (3 months rotation of each: Home Economics, Industrial Arts and Computers), and it is offered in Grade 8/9 as a full time option. Projects can range from simple work with acrylic plastics to advanced wood working in Grade 9 (cabinets, doors, deck furniture, and more).

Students
will complete two foods studies modules and one fashion (sewing) module.
- Snacks and Appetizers 103
Students will enjoy preparing gourmet delights while learning the basics of successful cooking and the benefits of healthy food choices. Students will be encouraged to share their culinary expertise with family and friends. Knowledge gained from this course will enhance daily living skills and may ultimately open doors to career opportunities.
During the fashion (sewing) portion of the program, the students will familiarize themselves with
basic sewing skills, as well as sewing and pressing equipment. All students will complete one
hand-sewing project and one project on the sewing machine. Sewing projects are appropriate
for all students.

- Baking Basics
Students will learn to bake muffins, cupcakes, cookies, pies and much more throughout the baking basics module. Students will be able to understand the ingredients from which they are made and learn how to properly prepare these delicious treats. Skill, in combining these ingredients transforms them into the
baker’s pride.
- International Cuisine
International cuisine will introduce the student to different cuisines for around the world and different cooking techniques.
- Ready, Set, Sew
During the fashion (sewing) portion of the program, the students become familiar with basic sewing and pressing equipment. The students complete two projects on the sewing machine and serger. The sewing projects are unisex and fun for all students
