The Sir George Simpson Music Program is a dynamic place where students learn and develop skills as a musician and performer. Students choose from a wide variety of brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments and begin the exciting journey to becoming an instrumentalist. Many opportunities are planned throughout the year for students to participate in. Our year calendar looks like this:

Gr. 8/9 Students
Remembrance Day Assembly
Nov/Dec Gr. 8/9 Students Festival of Trees – Edmonton
December All Grades Annual Christmas Concert
January All Grades Two day Band Camp – Lake Nakamun
February Gr. 8/9 Anthem at Oil Kings Hockey Game – Rexall Place
March All Grades Elementary School Performances
April All Grades St. Albert Rotary Music Festival
May Gr. 8/9 Spring Tour – 4 or 5 Days

Aside from the technical skills learned, students experience a team like atmosphere where everyone is a highly valued member and an integral part of the success of the group. Most students take all three grade levels in their junior high school years, making close friendships and memories they will never forget.
